Zenix Aerospace Upeca to support global chain, back Malaysia’s ambitions

KUALA LUMPUR: Zenix Aerospace Upeca is strengthening its manufacturing capabilities, digitalisation efforts and workforce development as part of its long-term strategy to help elevate Malaysia’s position in the global aerospace value chain and drive sustainable industry growth.

Its quality and engineering director, Superemaneyam Kuppusamy, said Malaysia has all the fundamental ingredients to become a leading aerospace hub in Southeast Asia.

He said that as a company commi ed to supporting the growth of the aerospace industry, Zenix Aerospace Upeca continuously evaluates opportunities to enhance its operational capabilities, technological competitiveness and workforce readiness.

“Our focus remains on strengthening manufacturing excellence through investments in process improvement, digitalisation, advanced manufacturing technologies and quality enhancement initiatives.

“We are also actively developing our workforce through technical training, leadership development and capability-building programmes to ensure our teams remain equipped to meet evolving customer requirements,” he told Bernama. In addition, Superemaneyam said Zenix Aerospace Upeca continues to support strategic initiatives related to operational efficiency, sustainability and aerospace industry best practices.

“These efforts are aligned with our long-term objective of delivering high-quality products and services while strengthening our position within the global aerospace supply chain,” he explained.

He said Malaysia’s aerospace supply chain has made significant progress over the past two decades, emerging as an important contributor to the global aerospace ecosystem with strengths in aerostructures manufacturing, precision machining, sheet metal fabrication, composite materials, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and engineering services.

He noted that Malaysia’s competitive advantage lies in its well-established aerospace industrial base, underpinned by internationally recognised certifications such as AS9100 and Nadcap.

“Local aerospace players have successfully integrated into global supply chains, supplying components and services to leading aerospace original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 suppliers.
