UK’s BAE Systems secures Eurofighter Typhoon training and support deal for Türkiye
The UK Government has signed a new defence agreement with the Republic of Türkiye covering training, support equipment and services for its recently ordered Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.
Under the contract, BAE Systems will provide spares, support equipment, pilot and engineer training, high-fidelity simulators and electronic warfare capabilities. The company will also deliver technical support services for an initial three-year period from the aircraft’s entry into service.
The agreement follows Türkiye’s October 2025 order for 20 Typhoon jets, with the first aircraft expected to be delivered in 2030.
BAE Systems to provide Typhoon training, simulators and support for Türkiye
Simon Barnes, Group Managing Director of BAE Systems’ Air sector, said: “We’re proud to support the UK’s partnership with Türkiye by delivering a trusted defence capability that deepens collaboration and reinforces shared security commitments.
“Türkiye’s acquisition of Typhoon strengthens this partnership and enhances the country’s advanced combat air capabilities.”

As part of the wider programme, the Royal Air Force will train 10 Turkish instructor pilots and nearly 100 maintenance personnel, supporting Türkiye’s goal of developing sovereign training and support capability.
Manufacturing of the aircraft is already underway across the Eurofighter partner nations, with final assembly of Türkiye’s jets to take place at BAE Systems’ Warton site in Lancashire.
The Typhoon programme currently supports more than 20,000 jobs across the UK, with the Turkish order expected to help sustain production into the 2030s.
