Skyways Technics is proud to announce the opening of STAM – Skyways Technics Aircraft Maintenance – a new hangar facility in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

With this new facility in Kuala Lumpur's Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (SZB), Skyways Technics takes the next step in increasing its footprint in the Asia-Pacific region and expanding its integrated ATR support ecosystem.

Since the launch of Skyways Technics Asia In 2014, Skyways Technics has been supporting ATR operators, lessors and aircraft owners across the APAC region through comprehensive component repair solutions and spare parts support. Through a large spares inventory onsite, coupled with strong local in-house workshop capabilities, Skyways Technics has built a solid foundation supporting the ATR platform. The establishment of STAM now expands that capability into full airframe maintenance! This new hangar facility allows Skyways Technics to offer an even more complete, localized solution to airlines, lessors, and operators throughout APAC.

STAM will offer services of all versions of the ATR aircraft with all types of maintenance checks, modifications, SB's, STCs, as well as any unscheduled maintenance, AOG and line maintenance support. The hangar will accommodate three ATR aircraft side-by-side and will be backed up by Skyways Technics’ extensive onsite ATR spare parts support team and local component workshops, creating strong operational synergies between airframe maintenance, component services and spare parts support.

The facility is currently in the final stage of certification by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for ATR Base and Line maintenance. Additional approvals from various Civil Aviation Authorities will follow shortly to ensure that broad regional support capabilities are in place to support existing and future ATRs throughout the region. EASA Line Maintenance approval is also in the final process to be added for both line maintenance, storage, aircraft transitions, and other minor works.

At full capacity, STAM expects to employ more than 150 permanent staff members, reinforcing local expertise while serving customers across the APAC region.

The ambitious mission with STAM is clear: to perform focused, highest quality ATR maintenance in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and become the preferred go-to ATR maintenance partner throughout the APAC region!

Strong Growth needs Strong Support. Thus, through the launch of STAM, Skyways Technics continues to expand its position as a global ATR specialist, combining spare parts support, component expertise, workshop services, with focused airframe maintenance in one integrated platform.
