Selangor business summit secures RM8.17bil in potential deals
KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2025 concluded with RM8.17 billion in potential transactions, reinforcing Selangor's position as one of the region's leading business and investment hubs.
SIBS 2025 comprised six core components, which include the Selangor Investment and Industrial Park (SPARK), Selangor ASEAN Business Conference (SABC), Selangor International F&B Expo (SIE F&B), Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention (SDEC), Selangor Aerospace Summit (SAS), and Selangor International Care Summit (SICS).
SPARK recorded the highest potential transaction value at RM6.96 billion, followed by SABC with RM844 million, SDEC at RM208 million, SIE F&B with RM96.97 million, SAS at RM52.07 million, and SICS with RM5.1 million.
A total of seven memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed under SPARK 2025, including a RM130 million deal for the Jerantut Square Development Project in Pahang.
Other notable partnerships included a RM20 million green hydrogen hub in Batang Kali between Worldwide Holdings Bhd, Ace Gases Sdn Bhd and SKS Coachbuilders Sdn Bhd.
The summit also saw an RM844 million agreement between the Malaysia Chamber of Commerce Indonesia and Indonesia's Asiosasi Badan Usaha Pelabuhan Indonesia to strengthen collaboration in the maritime and port sectors.
With a focus on trade, investment, digital transformation and sustainability, SIBS continues to position Selangor as the gateway to Asean by connecting regional businesses and global investors.
Held from Oct 8 to 11 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the four-day event was hosted by the Selangor state government and organised by Invest Selangor Bhd.
The ninth edition featured 740 exhibition booths and 581 exhibitors from across the Asia-Pacific region, attracting 56,938 visitors from 89 countries.
