Malaysia Airlines inks new codeshare partnership with Morocco’s Royal Air Maroc
KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 17): Malaysia Aviation Group Bhd (MAG) has signed a codeshare agreement with Moroccan national carrier Royal Air Maroc to expand network connectivity across Africa, Europe and Asia.
In a statement on Wednesday, MAG said the partnership would take effect immediately and is aimed at enhancing intercontinental connectivity by providing passengers with additional routing options.
Under the agreement, Malaysia Airlines will place its "MH" code on Royal Air Maroc-operated flights between Casablanca and Doha, and London and Paris. In turn, Royal Air Maroc will add its "AT" code on Malaysia Airlines-operated services between Kuala Lumpur and Doha, and London and Paris.
This partnership, supported by growing travel demand between Asia and Africa, signifies MAG’s broader network strategy through partnerships within the oneworld alliance, he added.
Royal Air Maroc chairman and chief executive officer Hamid Addou said the codeshare supports the airline’s efforts to strengthen its international network and connectivity between Africa, Europe and Asia.
“This collaboration reflects our commitment to consolidating our global presence and meeting the growing expectations of our customers,” said Hamid.
