ILA Berlin 2026: Hexcel to Showcase Lightweight Composite Solutions for Aerospace & Defense.
From June 10-14, Hexcel Corporation (NYSE: HXL) will exhibit at the ILA Berlin Air Show, featured on the BDLI (German Aerospace Industries Association) booth. The company will display innovative composite solutions engineered to meet the rigorous performance, durability, and reliability requirements of the aerospace and defense sectors.
“ILA Berlin is a pivotal forum where the future of aerospace and defense is not only discussed, but actively shaped,” said Lilian Braylé, President Aerospace Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa & Industrial.” It is an essential opportunity to highlight the critical role of composite materials in strategic industries and Hexcel’s leadership providing advanced composites material solutions.”
A World Leader Combining Global Footprint and Local Market Responsiveness
As a world leader in advanced composite materials, Hexcel bridges the gap between global industrial and R&D strength and a commitment to anchoring itself within national industries. In Germany – where Hexcel is present through a state-of-the-art facility in Stade – the company operates not just as a supplier, but as a strategic domestic partner embedded in the nation’s aerospace and industrial ecosystem. Hexcel leverages this dual identity to offer its customers the best of both worlds: the strength of a resilient global supply chain combined with strategically aligned local capabilities. By coordinating its worldwide resources with regional priorities, Hexcel provides its aerospace and defense partners with a secure and sovereign pathway toward the future of flight.
Innovative High-Rate Manufacturing Solutions to Discover at ILA
Hexcel will showcase its leadership in advanced materials through a diverse portfolio of high-rate manufacturing solutions, headlined by the FACC Ultra-Performance (UP)-Wing Demonstrator, a collaborative success story featuring complex 3D geometries built with Hexcel’s continuous-fiber prepreg and injection technologies.
The FACC part is a major component that demonstrates how Hexcel is shaping the history of composites and the company’s evolution alongside its customers. It is a collaboration that highlights the central role of composites in today’s aerospace and defense industries, using cutting‑edge techniques that provide solutions adapted to current constraints.
The company will also highlight its new HexPly® M51 rapid-curing prepreg, designed for hot-in/hot-out press molding to significantly reduce production cycles for primary structures, alongside its innovative hot-melt Towpreg range, which optimizes filament winding for high-performance electric motors and pressure vessels. Completing the displays are Hexcel’s HexPly® PEKK/IM7 thermoplastic solutions, developed in partnership with Arkema, featuring structural profiles and Omega stringers that demonstrate the industrial readiness of continuous manufacturing processes for next-generation aerospace applications.
