ICAO APAC DGCA60

From 28 July to 1 August, ICCAIA was proud to participate in the International Civil Aviation Organization’s 60th Conference of Di rectors General of Civil Aviation for the Asia-Pacific Region (DGCA60), held in Sendai, Japan, and hosted by the Japan Civil Avia t ion Bureau (JCAB).

This year’s conference brought together aviation leaders from across the APAC region under the theme: “The sustainable skies of the Asia Pacific region: towards increased economic prosperity and social well-being by air transportation of people and goods in the region.”

ICCAIA was well represented by a strong delegation of experts, including Mildred Troegeler, Thomas Martig, Myles Brown, Adrian Abraham, Alberto Grande, and Hélène Burger.

We’re proud to contribute to important discussions on the future of sustainable aviation, innovation, and regional collaboration - and to support ICAO’s mission of promoting safe, secure, and environmentally responsible air transport.

ICCAIA also welcomed the attention given to training and workforce develop ment in the APAC region - particularly the paper presented by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). The aerospace sector, along with all areas of aviation, anticipates significant growth in the demand for a wide range of ca reers, including engineers, maintenance personnel, IT professionals, and future focused roles in autonomy and AI.

ICCAIA expressed its support for the work of the Global Aviation and Aerospace Skills Taskforce and its collaboration with ICAO and NGAP.
