Exercise Bersama Lima 2025: Strengthening Regional Security through Multilateral Cooperation
An arrangement dating back to 1971 for the Indo-Pacific region, FPDA highly value sharing training processes and working strongly together in the Indo-Pacific Region. Exercise Bersama Lima will involve both joint and combined operations, practicing strategic coordination, and real-time communication across air, sea, and land forces.
“It is a great honour for Malaysia to host this exercise and it gives us an opportunity to learn together with the other countries.”
Royal Malaysian Air Force Lead Exercise Planner, Major Mohammad Irwan
A novel contribution to the Bersama Lima series is the integration of the Carrier Strike Group who arrived in Singapore last week on Operation Highmast.
The Royal Air Force (RAF) Air Mobility Force (AMF), A400M and Voyager aircrafts will partake in the exercise within the next few weeks, aligning to both in-land exercise activity as well as the Carrier Strike Group. Together, they will align with participating nation aircraft, including RMAF A400, C130H and the Royal Australian Air Force C27 from 35 Squadron. Exercise activity will be enhanced training with 5th generation fighter aircraft from the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and Royal Australian Air Force.
UK have pleasure of working with our FPDA partners in Malaysia whose lead it is this year, to build a programme of which Headquarters Integrated Area Defence is responsible for overseeing to make sure it is exciting, challenging and meets all of our training objectives from a national perspective.”
Deputy Exercise Controller Wing Commander, Mark Taylor
The FPDA continues to play a key role in fostering trust, transparency, and collaboration in the region, particularly in countering the complex security threats posed by terrorism, cyber warfare and natural disasters.
