DRB-Hicom returns to black in Q4 on goodwill gain, stronger operations

KUALA LUMPUR: DRB-Hicom Bhd returned to the black in the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2025, driven by improved operational performance across the group and the recognition of negative goodwill.

The company posted a net profit of RM337 million, compared with a net loss of RM46.6 million a year earlier, as revenue rose 15 per cent to RM4.57 billion from RM3.97 billion.

For the full financial year, net profit surged to RM397.97 million from RM22.55 million previously, mainly boosted by the recognition of RM334.42 million in negative goodwill arising from the acquisition of CTRM AeroSystems Sdn Bhd, formerly known as Spirit AeroSystems Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

The improved performance was also supported by stronger contributions from Proton, as well as the banking and property segments.

Full-year revenue increased 6.9 per cent to RM17.3 billion from RM16.19 billion.

In a statement, the company said Proton enters 2026 with strong momentum in its EV journey, as the Proton e.MAS 7 emerges as Malaysia's best-selling electric vehicle.

It noted that the nation's first affordable EV, the Proton e.MAS 5, has drawn over 14,000 bookings nationwide, reflecting strong demand and consumer confidence.

"The all-new Saga, built on Proton's Advanced Modular Architecture platform, remains the company's best-selling lineup.

"These milestones position Proton for continued growth and expansion beyond its home markets," it said.

DRB-Hicom added that completing the acquisition of CTRM AeroSystems Sdn Bhd will further strengthen the group's mobility segment and solidify its position as a Tier-1 supplier in the global aerospace supply chain.

"The group continues to advance its digitalisation, enhance operational efficiency and drive performance across all segments.

"These strategic moves create a more resilient platform for sustainable growth and future opportunities.

"The group anticipates a moderate outlook for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026," it said.
