CTRM wins Asia Best Maturity Award for aerospace excellence

CTRM Holdings Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Bhd, has won the 2026 Asia Best Maturity Award at the Aero Excellence International 2026 Best Maturity Awards held in conjunction with the Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom.

The award was secured through its subsidiary, CTRM Aero Composites Sdn Bhd, after the company achieved Bronze Maturity Level under the Aero Excellence Industrial Assessment Programme.

CTRM scored more than 90% across all five assessment domains, covering organisation resource management, planning and logistics, supplier industrial management, industrialisation and quality, and manufacturing excellence.

The company underwent a rigorous assessment in September last year conducted by seven qualified Aero Excellence assessors, involving 776 questions covering its industrial and manufacturing operations.

Aero Excellence, which is supported by major aerospace original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and industry associations, provides an internationally recognised benchmark for industrial excellence across the aerospace, space and defence sectors.

The programme aims to promote supply chain resilience, operational excellence and continuous improvement through a standardised assessment framework.

Of 239 assessments conducted globally to date, only 82, or 34%, have achieved Bronze Maturity status, underscoring the programme’s stringent assessment criteria.

CTRM also met more than 67% of the Silver-level criteria and 27% of the Gold-level criteria.

According to the lead assessor, the performance was unprecedented for a first-time participant of CTRM’s manufacturing scale.

CTRM CEO Shamsuddin Mohamed Yusof said the award reflected the dedication, professionalism and commitment of the company’s employees.

“The assessment results validate the strength of our operational systems, manufacturing capabilities and continuous improvement culture.

“Scoring above 90% across all five assessment domains, while also meeting numerous Silver and Gold-level assessment criteria, demonstrates our commitment to benchmarking ourselves against globally recognised standards of industrial excellence,” he said in a statement.

He said the achievement would strengthen CTRM’s resolve to continue delivering quality, reliability and value to customers worldwide.

The company said the award reinforced its position as one of the region’s leading aerospace composites manufacturers and demonstrated its ability to meet the increasingly demanding quality, industrial performance and supply chain requirements of the global aerospace industry. — TMR
