Body of deceased man in aircraft wheel well sent to Serdang Hospital - Cops

KUALA LUMPUR: The body of an unidentified man found inside the landing gear wheel well of an aircraft at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA2) has been sent to Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

KLIA police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Ravi said that the body which was discovered at 7am today was found in a decomposed state with its clothes intact.

However, police found no injuries on the body.

"During an inspection of the aircraft's right landing gear compartment (wheel well), a deceased male was found lying face down.

"An examination of the deceased's body found no identification documents, and the body was in a decomposed state.

"The estimated age of the deceased is between 17 and 25 years old, based on physical build," Ravi said in a statement today.

The deceased man was wearing a white hoodie with an image of a dragon on the back and the word 'OAKLEY' printed on the front.

Ravi also said that the man was wearing light blue jeans, a brown leather belt, socks, and black sports shoes.

KLIA2 Police received initial information regarding this incident from the Airport Operations Control Centre while conducting checks on the wheel well.

Police have classified the case as a sudden death.
