Airbus unveils U760 Ravenstorm combat drone

Airbus has unveiled the U760 Ravenstorm, an uncrewed collaborative combat aircraft designed to operate alongside crewed fighter jets.

The company is displaying a full-scale model of the aircraft at ILA Berlin 2026 as part of a broader uncrewed aircraft portfolio aimed at European defense customers.

Airbus said Ravenstorm is designed for air-to-air combat, air-to-ground strike capability and electronic warfare missions.

The aircraft forms part of Airbus’s uncrewed collaborative combat aircraft roadmap, which also includes the U740 Valkyrie, a version of the Kratos XQ-58A adapted for European requirements.

Airbus said the Ravenstorm model on display at ILA has a 10-meter wingspan and a 13-meter length.

The manufacturer is positioning the aircraft as part of a “scalable” family of uncrewed combat aircraft intended to support fighters in future air operations.

Airbus said Ravenstorm’s planned mission set includes air-to-surface strikes using precision-guided munitions, air-to-air defense with long- and medium-range missiles, and electronic warfare missions such as jamming and suppression of enemy air defenses.

Airbus said Ravenstorm will begin reaching customers in the early 2030s.

The company is also showing the U740 Valkyrie at ILA. Airbus is developing that aircraft with Kratos and equipping it with the company’s Multiplatform Autonomous Reconfigurable and Secure mission system, known as MARS.

Airbus said Valkyrie is intended to give the German Air Force an operational sovereign uncrewed combat aircraft by 2029 and support experimentation with Eurofighter teaming.

Ravenstorm, Valkyrie and its U680 Bird of Prey drone interceptor all use the MARS mission system. Airbus said MARS includes an AI-supported software core intended to enable platform autonomy across multiple uncrewed aircraft.

The Ravenstorm unveiling comes as European defense companies are placing greater emphasis on uncrewed combat aircraft, autonomous systems and crewed-uncrewed teaming.

Airbus said its ILA portfolio also includes the U145 uncrewed helicopter, the U010 Aliaca, U030 Flexrotor and U050 Capa-X tactical drones, the U680 Bird of Prey interceptor and the U950 Eurodrone.

The U145, an uncrewed version of the H145 helicopter, was introduced separately at ILA as a cargo-focused platform for civil and military missions.

“Whatever uncrewed or ‘drone’ capability our customers need to strengthen sovereign air power, we deliver,” said Mike Schoellhorn, CEO of Airbus Defence and Space.

Schoellhorn said Airbus’s defense portfolio ranges from drone interceptors and tactical drones to cargo helicopters, uncrewed collaborative combat aircraft and the Eurodrone long-endurance intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance platform.
