Embraer To Showcase The E195-E2 In Malaysia This Month
The aircraft manufacturer is bringing its latest generation commercial jet to the aerospace exhibition.
About Embraer E195-E2 jet
Embraer will be showing off its latest generation Embraer E195-E2 regional jet at the display stand at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) on May 23, 2023.
The E195-E2 is the largest variant of its E-Jet E2 family, which was introduced into commercial service in 2019. With a capacity of up to 146 passengers, the E195-E2 has the capability to fly a maximum range of 2,600 nautical miles (4,815 kilometers) and can reach a maximum cruising speed of Mach 0.82 (1,004 kilometers per hour).
Embraer’s latest aircraft has garnered popularity among European and South/North American operators. However, according to ch-aviation.com data, the type is currently operated by only six airlines, including Brazil’s Azul, KLM Cityhopper, Porter Airlines Canada, Helvetic Airways, Air Peace, and Binter Canaria.
It is not surprising that Azul, a Brazilian airline, has the largest fleet of E195-E2 jets among all the other operators. The airline currently operates 16 of these aircraft. However, it is worth noting that the largest variant of Embraer’s E-Jet E2 family aircraft presently has no active fleet or orders from any airline in the Asia-Pacific region. Therefore, Embraer’s participation in Malaysia’s aerospace event may help raise awareness and visibility for the aircraft in the region.
Malaysia’s LIMA 2023
The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) is a biennial event considered to be one of Asia-Pacific’s most significant maritime and aerospace exhibitions. This year, the exhibition will take place from May 23 to May 27, 2023.
The last event, which took place in 2019, featured over 40,000 attendees and 555 exhibitors. However, the event in 2021 was canceled due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the organizers anticipate an even more significant event with around 45,000 trade visitors, 250,000 public visitors, and over 600 exhibitors.
