Senior Minister of the Economic Cluster and as Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin bin Ali said, this is a new task force, as a result of feedback from industry to mitigate collaborations with the public and private sectors to develop and direct the national aerospace movement, which includes the participation of local industry players. This is to enable the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) target to be met because we want this SAF to be a priority for a set period of time, in line with the environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda, he said.
Speaking at MyAERO 2022 opening ceremony, he said Malaysia aims to pioneer Aerospace Industry by using green technology towards clean and healthy environment. The task force comprise members from the government and private sector including Malaysia Aviation Group, Air Asia and PETRONAS. Aerospace Industry has been on and upward trajectory to help position Malaysia as regional power house and integral to the global aerospace supply chain. Last year, the industry recorded RM104.7m worth of investments. A total trade of RM13.84b and revenue of RM12.2b.
