KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 (Bernama) – Malaysia’s participation in the Farnborough International Airshow 2022 (FIA 2022) has yielded RM572.6 million in revenue for aerospace products and services such as parts and components, engineering and design services, training services, maintenance, repair, and overhaul as well as systems integration and maintenance.

There were a total of 332 business meetings between local companies and overseas buyers during the July 18-22 event, a Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) statement said.

Chairman Tan Sri Dr Halim Mohammad said Malaysia’s pavilion also attracted visitors from global aerospace companies including Piaggio Aerospace, Leonardo SPA, Honeywell Aerospace, Deutsche Aircraft, and Spirit AeroSystems.

Seventeen companies and government agencies such as Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit, BHIC Aeroservices Sdn Bh, CTRM Aero Composites Sdn Bhd, DRB-HICOM Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd, Galaxy Aerospace Sdn Bhd and Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd participated.There were 1,253 exhibitors from 24 countries with major participation from the United States’ 385 companies, the United Kingdom (342), and Italy (130).

Malaysia was the only country from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) with a country pavilion, Halim said, adding that the national trade promotion organisation looks forward to the upcoming MO Singapore Asia 2022, Paris Airshow 2023 and Farnborough International Airshow
2024.
