The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) represented by YBhg. Datuk Isham Ishak, Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport who is also a Member of the CAAM Authority together with YBhg. Datuk Kapten Chester Voo Chee Soon, Chief Executive Officer of CAAM paid a courtesy call on Mr. Billy Nolen, FRAeS Acting Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Washington, USA, yesterday.

The visit was aimed at both parties to hold bilateral discussions on the aviation sector, including cooperation in matters of aviation safety, Drones and Air Mobility regulations, the results of audits on the International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) Malaysia and so on.

At that meeting, Mr. Billy Nolen also congratulated CAAM on the approach taken in regulatory matters as well as the efforts to transform CAAM over the past 24 months which is considered a very good thing.

In addition, the Malaysian delegation was also taken to visit the facilities available at the FAA’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center (ATCSCC) which is an air traffic control center covering 500 airports throughout the United States.

It is hoped that the visit will have a positive impact on the air transport industry in Malaysia as well as further strengthen strategic cooperation between the two countries. Visit Page
