10th August 2020 – MAIA wishes to congratulate SME Aerospace in successfully meeting the Boeing quality requirements in delivery of parts for Boeing 737 aircraft conversion program. Chief Executive Officer of SME Aerospace, Ahmad Fuzli Fauzi stated that all parts were manufactured during the MCO period in compliance with the SOP of the Malaysia Government.

 All 33 parts of the floor beam assembly were found to meet drawing and PO requirements.  A FAA 8130-3 Authorized Release Certificate was provided to SME Aerospace to authorize direct shipment to Boeing Freighter Conversion Centre in China.

In thanking SME Aerospace, Boeing SQ stated that the management and staff provided ‘outstanding support not only in ensuring the various products were defect free but that  the manufacturing environment was safe and in compliance with the Malaysian Government SOP during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic situation

Even with the current COVID-19 pandemic environment, this is evidence that the Malaysia Aerospace Industry under strict adherence to SOP rules is able to remain strong.  MAIA will continue to support our members during such challenging times, providing both advice and regular updates and information as well as continuing to represent our members’ interests at local, state, federal and international levels.
