Asia AeroTechnic Sdn Bhd (AAT) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Council of Trust for the People (MARA); a government institution formed under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development. AAT was formerly known as Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology Sdn Bhd, established in 1999 to provide aviation training. On March 2015, it was being renamed to Asia AeroTechnic to spear-head the commercial aviation MRO services in Malaysia.
AAT aspires to lead the development of the MRO industry in Malaysia and to be the leading MRO in the region. At the same time, AAT is tasked to drive human capital development and entrepreneurship in the Malaysian aviation industry. Operational since 2015, AAT has served more than 20 customers. Rapidly gaining approvals and customers, AAT is on track to positioning itself as one of the leading MROs in the Asia Pacific regions.
Core Competencies includes airframe heavy maintenance, fleet technical management, human capital development (on-job training), aircraft painting, line maintenance, aircraft part-out, and aircraft spares.
Up to this day, AAT has been approved from various civil aviation authorities such as Department of Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM), Gambia CAA, DCA Myanmar, CAA Thailand, DGCA Indonesia.

Ample experience in MRO business expanded their capabilities in on-aircraft work which covers:

Aircraft overhaul with hangar facility on ATR 42/72, B737CL & NG, BBJ / Corp Jets, B777-200, A320 Series, A330, B747 and helicopters.

Modifications on freighter / VIP conversion / avionics upgrade.

On-wing services (without hangars) on mobile and line stations.
Apart from that, AAT also covers off-aircraft work such as fleet technical management (maintenance planning, engineering & technical services, quality assurance, aircraft management, A/C evaluation / pre-buy inspection), training, component / spare support, workshop / process support / painting, NDT / composite / safety equipment and consultancy.
AAT continues to further expand their capabilities particularly in component MRO, aircraft support shop, VVIP configuration and cargo conversion.
Having key differential factors allows them to stay competitive. They are regarded as a new MRO operated by experienced MRO management and production team. They are also an independent MRO (a government owned company) with competitive labour rates, having full spares & technical support from ATR Singapore, Skyways Technics Asia Sdn Bhd, Pratt & Whitney Canada, and STRAND Aerospace (M) Sdn. Bhd. Aiming to be the one-stop and centre of excellence for ATR in near future, they have been providing ample warehouse & engine storage and at the same time providing customised engineering solutions for the customers.
In 2015, AAT awarded as “The Best Company or Paid-up Capital of RM5 million and Above” by Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, Malaysia.
